Col Leona Barr-Jones DL

Colonel Leona Barr-Jones DL began her career at 104th Regiment Royal Artillery in Wales.

She commissioned in 1991 and went on to serve 21 years in the Regular Army, 14 years in the Army Reserve, and as a Cadet Commandant and Colonel Cadets. Her postings included loan service in South Africa, Regimental Duty at 14th Signals Regiment (Electronic Warfare) in Brawdy, Haverfordwest, and operational tours of the Balkans.

She later held roles on the staff in Defence People Policy, Defence Diplomacy, and International Policy and Planning.

Colonel Barr-Jones has also worked extensively in and around central government.

She was the London Olympics and Paralympics’ Operational Readiness Programme Manager for Transport for London.

In 2023, she was appointed Chief Executive of East Anglia Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA).

In May 2024, she was commissioned as a Deputy Lieutenant of Bedfordshire. Since June 2023, she has been a Trustee of Fighting with Pride, the Armed Forces LGBTQ+ Charity.
